Perforated Elements for Airpel Self Cleaning Filters

Airpel has introduced a Perforated Element for specific applications. The Perforated element prevents "platelet" shaped debris from passing though the element in "letter box" fashion. This element also makes the passage of fibrous debris practically impossible. The element is an all welded 316 S.S. assembly.

- Perforated elements are available in 60 micron and larger ratings. Standard and reinforced elements are available. Perforated elements are fully interchangeable with the wedgewire elements.
- Each perforation in the element has a divergent flow profile to prevent it from becoming blocked with debris. As with all Airpel Self Cleaning Filters, debris collects on the outside of the element. This eliminates the possibility of a burst element shedding its debris load into the filtered product.
The two types of perforation available are:Perforated (500 microns and larger) - with nominally round holes and an open area that varies with the diameter of the perforations. (The larger the perforation, the larger the open area.) Perforated Oval (60 to 500 microns) - with oval shaped holes that give a higher open area and therefore lower pressure drop than perforated above. The rating of the element is defined by the minor axis of the oval.
